Written on

Chapter 1: Introduction to Week Twenty-Two

Welcome to the twenty-second week of our 2024 Writing Prompt Journey! This week features three fresh prompts, each accompanied by two intriguing words or concepts that you might want to weave into your poetic creations for an added challenge. If these prompts don't ignite your imagination, let the accompanying images guide your creativity in a new direction!

Your poetry can take any shape and employ various poetic techniques. Here are a few poetic forms to kickstart your writing:

  • Double-Etheree: A 20-line poem structured with a syllable count that ascends from 1 to 10 and then descends back to 1.
  • Acrostic Poem: Choose a word as your theme and write it vertically on the left side of your page, starting each line with the corresponding letter.
  • Tongue Twister Poem: Utilize alliteration to create challenging, consonant-heavy lines that are fun to read aloud.

The essential rules for this journey are straightforward:

  1. Select one or more prompts and start writing.
  2. Share your creations on our publication or anywhere else you choose! Don’t forget to link back to this prompt post.
  3. Post a link to your poetry in the comments, or tag me so I can discover and share your work with others on this journey.
  4. Use the tags "Writing Prompt Journey" and "Poetry" in your posts.
