Exploring the Essence of Being and Doing in Life

Chapter 1: The Quest for Purpose
Who am I? What is my essence? What direction am I taking in life? Am I living with intention? Am I achieving enough? What legacy do I leave behind?
These fundamental queries are universal. They touch upon the essence of our existence in this world we inhabit. Ideally, there should be a reason for our presence here, a higher purpose that gives our lives meaning. If there isn't something beyond ourselves—a greater calling or a significant purpose—then what is the rationale for our existence?
What drives your existence? What do you truly desire in life? Most people might respond with aspirations for love, wealth, a supportive family, a comfortable home, a luxurious vehicle, or a dream vacation—this list is extensive and varied.
Society operates on the belief that we are here to acquire: knowledge, experiences, relationships, wealth, and material goods. We often find ourselves working tirelessly to earn a living, believing that financial success equates to a fulfilled life. We spend our earnings on items we think will bring us joy, seeking validation and worthiness. A successful life is often equated with employment, financial responsibilities, and nurturing a loving family. While these aspects are vital for survival, is that truly the entirety of our existence?
How do you define your life? Is it through your knowledge, possessions, or actions? What genuinely matters to you? The meaning of life can be as transient as a wave in the ocean.
As we dig deeper in search of answers to these fundamental questions, we often discover that our ultimate goal is happiness. Unfortunately, many of us base our happiness on external conditions—the affection of a partner, the job of our dreams, the ideal home, or the latest car. This reliance on external circumstances for happiness makes us dependent on others. What happens when life doesn’t unfold as we expect? When your beloved departs, or disaster strikes your home? Often, we find ourselves on a new quest to fill the void left in our hearts, seeking external sources of happiness.
Let's pause to reflect on why this approach is flawed. Our happiness should not hinge on external factors; it must flow from within us. As human beings, we often find ourselves in a cycle of doing rather than simply being. We should strive to embrace happiness regardless of our external circumstances.
To be is to live fully. To embody kindness, joy, and to revel in the life you create. To be love, to be peace, to be whatever you envision in every cherished moment of your existence.
Our essence transcends mere physicality. We are more than what appears on the surface. We are composed of energy and light, ever-evolving based on our thoughts, words, emotions, and actions. Every thought contributes to our being; thoughts of love and peace enhance our essence, while thoughts of greed and harm detract from it.
Would you embrace your true self if you could perceive your internal composition? Not the facade you present to the world, but the thoughts that lie beneath. Are you made of loving energy, radiating peace and positivity, or are you often preoccupied with self-serving thoughts? Every thought you entertain and every word you utter shapes your identity—your energetic presence, your aura. The true you, the enduring essence, remains invisible to the naked eye, yet we frequently overlook this reality, choosing instead to pursue happiness through materialistic means and fleeting goals.
The purpose of our existence is to uncover our authentic selves and aspire to become the finest versions of ourselves. We should embody love and light in every breath and moment. Your presence in the now determines your energetic frequency. Are you embodying love, or are you consumed by anxiety? Are you preoccupied with worries about the day or are you at peace with your circumstances? To maintain a vibration of love and tranquility, even amidst life's challenges, is the reason for your existence. It's about overcoming obstacles with grace and calmness. Your true power lies in remaining still and centered, even in adversity. Create your own happiness and resonate with your truest, most authentic self.
