What caused you to falter in the past? Individual setbacks can stem from numerous factors, and often, analyzing these singular events yields little benefit. It’s tragic when a patient loses their life during surgery, but does that signify you should abandon your medical career? Likely not.
The past serves us best when viewed in broader terms. The real insight comes from recognizing patterns, especially when we repeatedly choose unproductive paths until life compels us to confront reality: “This isn’t working. You need to backtrack and reassess.” Deep reflection is essential for identifying these missteps, and it generally suffices to engage in this process a few times a year. Even the toughest lessons often become ingrained in our intuition, allowing us to recall them without needing to write everything down.

Try one new thing today, and tomorrow you might discover yet another change to implement. Remember your outfit from yesterday, but more importantly, understand that every lesson learned is valuable—even if the details are fuzzy.
