Delightful Connections: Exploring Poetry and AI on Medium

Chapter 1: Discovering a Fan
In a recent initiative proposed by Dr. Mehmet Yildiz, we are encouraged to delve into our interactions with fans by selecting one or two to explore our connections with them. My most recent fan is Amritansh Sagar, who first caught my attention when he praised my article discussing the concepts of wrongdoing and righteousness.
"Reflecting on the Duality of Right and Wrong"
A bit later, Amritansh chose to follow me back. Before reciprocating, I decided to check out his profile. I discovered that he is relatively new to Medium, having joined in April 2020, and has shared numerous poetic works. What piqued my interest further was his role as a research fellow. His profile describes him as “a pure and candid mind open to experimenting with possibilities, writing, and fueling innovation.” Additionally, he writes on the subject of artificial intelligence.
His blend of poetry and scientific inquiry resonates deeply with me, as I appreciate the intellectual depth that often permeates the works of fellow enthusiasts. Amritansh's insights into artificial intelligence and the challenges researchers face are expressed succinctly and clearly.
"Is the Brain a Functional Model of Artificial Intelligence?"
"Thinking machines mirror our thought processes—up to a point."
Moreover, he actively engages with other writers in the community. I noticed his poetic exchange with another writer, Dennett, who commented on a poignant piece about love and loss:
“This is a powerful line, Amritansh; it encapsulates the essence of the poem. What could be more tragic than forgetting someone repeatedly?”
Here is one of his evocative lines:
“Say The Night to Hold Me
Til I’m swept with the wind, away.”
This comment sparked my curiosity, leading me deeper down the rabbit hole of discovery. I particularly enjoyed his poem titled "New Neverending."
"New Neverending"
"A poem about self-creation"
Dennett's poem was inspired by a prompt from another Medium writer, Samantha Lazar, whose profile picture reminded me of an actress from the show “Orange is the New Black.” The inspiration behind Dennett’s work came from Quote Prompt ?13, part of a series based on famous quotes that resonate with Samantha.
"Quote Prompt ?13"
"June 27, 2020"
I too have a fondness for thoughtful quotes, which led me to follow Samantha as well. I eagerly anticipate her upcoming prompts. This journey from fan to follower can lead to unexpected and enriching experiences. I cherish the connections I make on Medium.
